What does the price actually change?
Price does not track the parts: Sohnne’s $2,999 set lists the same base, rings, carabiners, and cord that B&B Italia lists for its $18,921 sofa. I lined up the specs for four brands side by side, and that is the pattern most roundups miss.
Connectors. B&B Italia’s product page lists brass rings, stainless steel carabiners, and polypropylene cord. Sohnne lists the same three parts. Eternity Modern’s $3,590 Combination 012 includes stainless steel carabiner connectors. Rove Concepts’ $6,019 Belia page doesn’t spell out connectors in its description, and one verified buyer on that page says the legs slide on hardwood.
Frame. B&B Italia lists an MDF wood-fibre base with solid wood feet, and so does Sohnne. Eternity Modern builds on a Merbau wood frame with no chemical treatment instead. A solid wood frame is a different build, not a closer copy.
Foam. Eternity Modern lists three distinct layers of shaped polyurethane foam. Sohnne lists multi-layer, high-resilience polyurethane in different densities. Neither page gives a density number, so ask for one in pounds per cubic foot. WJS Home and Adorn Croft both cite 1.8 lb/ft³ as a minimum for seat foam. That is a seller rule of thumb, not a standard.
